Inspiration from simple moments.

It is the simple moments that we often reflect on with fondness and a deep sigh of peace. Reflections on the days of childhood when life wasn't as complex or responsibilities weren't so demanding. Adulthood can take us away from those exciting adventures when the world was so enormous and milestones lay around every corner.

Time to Reflect

I have taken aa a year to reflect on my direction. I have been very busy painting and reaching within my heart to define my path. Here are couple of portraits of children being children. Enjoy, there will be more!

Push through the feelings!

Wow, don't you just hate getting up each morning trying to create new habits, exercising, flossing those pearly whites, studying for an exam.....PAINTING! I love painting, don't get me wrong, but the insecurities that go through my head before the brush hits the canvas and sometimes during the whole process can be exhausting. For the love of knowing that I am doing what I am created to do, I will plough through the vacillating feelings of uncertainty and create. Wow, a no brainer!

A New Start....Again!

It has once again been too long since I've posted anything, but today is a new start. I am PAINTING! I have read and looked at numerous inspirational materials in hopes to "spark the fire" of energetic creative juices needed to paint for myself. I have even taken on a few commissions to "force my hand" into doing what I know in my heart I desire to do, and yet I still hesitate. Why? Why should I allow the troubles of life, the critical inner voices to rob me of my passion...my purpose?
Today will be a start. Today, one foot at a time, will I walk forward on my journey's path!

I'm BACK!

I am Back after a long absence!!! Life and it's responsibilities have sidetracked me for a short time, but I am back on my feet painting. Inspiration through many directions has given me encouragement to keep painting. My goal is to paint every day, even if it is very small, to get in some practice. This oil is from a current class at LAAFA. After painting in watercolor & gouache for several years, I thought that I should try oil again.

Genevieve

This is painted in Gouache with a photo as a reference. A Venice curio shop was the backdrop for a dear friend's daughter.
